Ploutarchos Alonefti of UC Charleston has received one of the biggest honours in collegiate soccer, being named in Division II, All America Team for 2021.
The All America team is the best eleven of the season in the entire USA, as voted by the United Soccer Coaches organization, the largest organization of American soccer coaches. Alonefti, a national champion with UC Charleston in 2019, was instrumental in leading the team to back-to-back national championship games, losing 1-0 to Cal State LA in this season’s final.
This was the third major award of the season for Alonefti, who was named in the first team All-Region as well as All-Conference earlier in the season.
