We are pleased to announce that USA youth NT midfielder, Axel Alejandre, will be transferring to the University of North Carolina, Greensboro (UNCG) from Louisville University. At Louisville, Alejandre played in 19 of 21 matches last season.
At UNCG, Georgallides will be joining a program that's enjoyed great success in recent years. In 2021 UNCG led the nation in goals scored per game and goal differential. In 2022 the Spartans made the quarterfinal of the national championship. In addition in the last three seasons several players have gone on to sign professional contracts, most notably J.C Ngando and Theo Collomb who signed in the MLS.
Alejandre will become the third JSA Athlete to join UNCG, following South African winger Marco Afonso who was named All-Conference in his sole season with UNCG in 2022, and Konstantinos Georgallides who joined UNCG earlier this year.
