We are pleased to announce that Cyprus National Team swimmer, Christina Ayiomamitou, will be joining University of the Pacific (UOP) in Fall 2024. One of Cyprus' top swimmers, Christina was a silver medalist in the 2023 GSSE Games in Malta, contributing in setting a new national record in the 4x100 freestyle relay.
UOP is a private university in Stockton, California. Founded in 1851, it is California's oldest university. The school is ranked in the top 100 nationally by The Wall Street Journal, and regularly ranks in the top 15 private universities in the West. The university's campus, often cited as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country, is featured in several award winning films including Steven Spielberg's classic Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Pacific's women's swimming team competes in NCAA Division 1. Since 2019 the team is led by head coach Katelyne Herrington. In 2022-23, Pacific participated in the National Invitational Championships for the first time with 14 swimmers and nine relays qualifying for the event.
