We are pleased to announce that Cyprus U21 NT defender, Nikolas Hadjimitsis, will be joining Lafayette College in Fall 2023.
Located in Easton, Pennsylvania, Lafayette was ranked 9th in the Washington Monthly's Liberal Arts College rankings for 2022. The university also boasts one of the top 15 undergraduate engineering programs in the US. Most notably Lafayette regularly ranks in the top 20 universities nationally for best return on investment.
Lafayette competes in NCAA Division 1. The men's soccer program reached their conference tournament final twice in the last four years. The team's soccer stadium is currently undergoing a $3.6 million renovation.
Hadjimitsis who's been capped three times by the Cyprus U21 National Team, previously represented Cyprus at U15, U17 and U19 level. He was promoted to the first team of Anorthosis Famagusta in Spring 2021. In Summer 2022, Hadjimitsis joined Olympiacos Nicosia, making his top division debut vs APOEL Nicosia last September.
Hadjimitsis is the third JSA athlete to join Lafayette following Marcos Kitromilides and Yiannis Panayides. In his four years at Lafayette, Kitromilides was named All-American Scholar once, All-Region twice and All-Conference four times. Panayides also enjoyed a stellar career at Lafayette, having been named all-conference and receiving several conference player of the week awards.
