Portland Pilots goalkeeper, George Tasouris, has been named All-Region for the second season in a row. He is the seventh JSA athlete from Cyprus to receive All-Region recognition in men’s soccer since 2019.
Tasouris was one of the top goalkeepers in the West Coast Conference this past season. He finished the regular season second in the conference in clean sheets (six), total saves (58), and save percentage (.797). He was the first Pilot to earn WCC Player of the Week honours twice in the same season since 2017 when current MLS star Benji Michel did so.
Tasouris was instrumental in helping the Pilots finish the season ranked in the top 25 Division 1 programs
This was Tasouris’ second major award of the season, having been named All-Conference last month. Tasouris has excelled on the pitch throughout his collegiate career having been named All-WAC Defensive Player of the Year, WAC Tournament MVP, First Team All-Conference, and First Team All-Region. He has also excelled academically, receiving All-WAC Academic recognition in 2020.
