Aoumaich transfers to 2020 National Champions Marshall

We are pleased to announce that French-American attacking midfielder, Adam Aoumaich will be joining Marshall University, the 2020 national champions. Aoumaich will be transferring from UAlbany where he had 6 goals and 3 assists in 7 starts during the Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 seasons. In addition according to data from Wyscout, Aoumaich led college soccer in succesful dribbles per 90 minutes and was the most fouled player in all of college soccer per 90 minutes.

Under head coach, Chris Grassie, who was appointed in 2017, Marshall has been transformed into an elite soccer program. Before Grassie, the program typically was ranked outside the top 100 programs in college. In the last three seasons under Grassie, the program has never finished the season ranked outside the top 25 programs in Division 1. Most notably in the 2020 season, which was postponed due to Covid-19 and was played in the Spring of 2021, Grassie led Marshall to its first national championship.

Relive Marshall’s 2020 NCAA tournament run

Two Marshall players were selected in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft. Defender Nathan Dossantos was selected by Orlando City SC, while midfielder Victor Dias was selected by the Vancouver Whitecaps. This was the third consecutive year that at least one Marshall player was selected in the MLS SuperDraft.
