George Tasouris has been named the West Coast Conference's defensive player of the week, for the first time this season. The Portland Pilot's goalkeeper, who won the award multiple times last season, earned the award following a top performance vs the No.9 ranked Denver Pioneers.
Tasouris is the second JSA athlete to be named WCC Player of the Week this season. Teammate Gurman Sangha won the award two weeks ago, following his MVP performance vs the Indiana Hoosiers.
The Pilots are unbeaten through six games for the first time since 2018 and are currently ranked 13th in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll and 14th in the TopDrawerSoccer Top 25 poll.
